Looking and seeing
On the way down the valley I saw the leathery terracotta frills of turkeytail fungus on a log and took a photo but I didn't see, until I looked at the image, the two sycamore seeds, with wings still attached and the third on the left that has actually germinated.
Below, at the bay, the bloated form of a washed-up marine float was hard to miss as it lay beside the old lime kiln. Scrutinising the small print revealed that it came from Ireland, made by a large company based in Galway.
