Morning Light ...

... captured at 8 am today opposite our apartment. Today was another day of continuing to settle into our apartment.  We went early to our nearby Carrefour Market and did more shopping for staples as well as food for lunches and dinners. 

We also bought our first galette des rois of this season--the almond- paste-filled pastry which traditionally is eaten on January 6 to celebrate the visit of the three kings (rois in French) to the baby Jesus (Epiphany).  In France, galettes are made and sold for the entire month of January and can be found in every bakery.  They are delicious!  We had part of ours with today's afternoon tea.
