Whooza! Hard Frost with Sparrows

Big surprise this morning... besides these dear White Crowned Sparrows who are new to me this spring.
All is well... oh, except we had a hard frost last night. The middle of May and Nature brings a surprise to the blooms in my garden. Woke up to -3ºC (27.5ºF). Sun is out now and maybe it will warm up all the budded lilacs. They were getting to be so beautiful too.
I will check with my neighbour whose apple trees have been spectacularly blooming this spring with a promise of a great apple crop. Oh dear...
