Gruts Bridge

The bridge is named after Major Collings de Jersey Grut who lived across the road in what is now known as Orewa House. He came to NZ from the Channel Islands in the late 1800s. He and his sons convinced the government surveyors to build the north road (as was, it's since been superseded by a toll road) from here over the hill and through Waiwera. Lingering showers today so not many people out at the beach although this dog was having fun jumping into the swollen stream. Thanks to jensphotos for hosting.
