Above the Agly valley

It was good to be out walking again on Wednesday. There were only four of us and the walk was not very demanding, only 8.5 km and 350 m of ascent. In the extra, in the centre of the shot, you can just make out the pimple that is Bugarech. In 2012 it was a doomsday destination with new age people camping out for about a year. Roads were closed to prevent the site becoming overwhelmed. Online scaremongers had drawn on an ancient Mayan prophecy to claim that the little village's 200 or so inhabitants would be the only survivors of an impending cataclysm.
