Everyday Garden Colour

Actually, there's nothing 'everyday' about these gorgeous ceramic flowers, made in her own studio by Renée Kilburn, but their presence does ensure a splash of colour at all times of year.

These three I bought about a year ago, just as I had no garden to put them in, but was living temporarily in Weston-super-Mare, where Renée's studio is. Like many other artists and sole traders, her business suffered badly during lockdown. Now, just as she begins to recover, and is preparing pots for exhibitions and craft fairs countrywide, her kiln has given up the ghost. She needs a huge amount of money to repair it, so now seemed like a good time to extend my collection and add to her coffers.

Once I've chosen and taken delivery, I'll blip the result. They're not cheap, but neither are they mass-produced. Each piece of pottery is hand-crafted. They are also resilient against frost and keep their lovely bright colour.

Popped over to our daughter's again today to help with household chores, and spent an hour or so 'wearing' the Young Master in a sling-carrier while he slept. His reflux is so bad if his mum lays him down, so he's better in an upright position.

Lots of giggles going on with his big sister when she came home from 'Forest School' at Nursery. She's started taking pictures on her mum's phone (some very good portraits of everyone), BUT her favourite subject at present is SOCKS! And as the number of sock pictures increases, so do her giggles. Hmmm!
