Bird Park nature reserve

This little monstrosity has appeared at the reservoir! It appears to be a way of allowing the outflow of the reservoir to be shut off, possibly to reduce flood water towards Kendal.
The bizarre bunds that were built in the bluebell woods are still not holding any water….but nature is healing the scars now.
Of course, the overgrazed slurry fields are running with water, pity they couldn’t be turned into water retaining woodlands!
