Back To Nature

We visited the new-to-us but old-to-the world Parque Lage beside the Rio de Janeiro lagoa/lagoon. The building you see was built by a rich industrialist and a famous singer as their home in an extensive plot of Atlantic rain forest, beneath Corcovado and the Christ the Redeemer Statue. Loved the smells and lushness of it all!

We walked onto Malkah (formerly Lorenzo) on the corner of Lopes Quintas and Visconde de Carandai for a leisurely lunch. A thunderstorm made us abandon a walk of the Jardin Botanics area, afterwards, and grab a cab back to our studio apartment…we have bought far too many umbrellas this trip!
