Spare

An harassed assistant in Waterstones this afternoon told he had had never known anything like it as  he struggled to keep up with the demand, unwrapping  more copies of Spare, the Prince Harry autobiography.
They sold out yesterday within minutes.
 
I’m surprised.   Stirling had never struck me as a hot bed of Royalists. Quite the opposite.The assistant agrees. The demand astonished him too.

But then it follows the international trend  with  phenomenal worldwide sales, which already top 400,000 after one day with only Harry Potter books selling more.
 
PS Confession time. Yes, I too succumbed to the publicity machine and bought a copy because it’s half price. And I am never one to miss a bargain.
