Rising water levels
Today it has rained all day. It is a miserable time of year when it rains a lot, the spring bulbs are not yet out and I struggle to find something interesting to photograph. At such a dreary time of year no wonder many people go abroad in search of sunnier destinations.
A damp walk with Xena, a good wash to get all the mud off her, and then off to the supermarket to get food for the weekend. I photographed the River Mole which flows through Cobham on my way to the supermarket. It often floods and the water levels are very high there at the moment.
I received a phone call from John Lewis yesterday about my refund. I don't think they know what is going on, maybe they have had a system failure or something but they phoned me to ask the product numbers of what I returned, as they cannot see it on their system. I have confirming emails from them with a return number but they seem ignorant of what has been returned. My return was made on 16th December, and I still have not got my refund - this is not good as usually one gets it a few days after returning the item. We have a friend who is a director with John Lewis and he confirmed they are struggling at the moment....
The plumbers were here all day again, I am hoping they finish today. I thought I would have the house to myself tomorrow but no, another plumber is coming tomorrow to service the boilers - he is from the company who makes the boiler so we like to get them to do the annual service rather than any other plumber. It has been a week of plumbers and we still have to get a roof leak fixed and then all of it has to be repainted....and I am fed up already.
The boys are coming home this weekend to celebrate Tommy's birthday, so that is something to look forward to.
