A Surprisingly Nice End To The Day

We spent the morning at the designer outlet in York, meeting up with our daughter for coffee. We wandered around the centre, but I can’t help thinking that it is a total waste of space - the shops there are just useless. We didn’t buy anything, apart from our coffees.

Home via Sainsbury’s at Tadcaster - but supplies of fresh meat and veg were very low. Apparently there were no deliveries overnight as the flood prevention barriers were in place in case the nearby River Wharfe overtopped - it was within inches of the top of the bank, so I guess they had reason to put up defences.

More heavy rain this morning, so maybe the barriers will go up again tonight. The flood barriers were installed a few years ago when the store was inundated - they are now put up as and when floods look likely.

I popped out for a short walk late this afternoon- just in time to catch this sunset. It has clouded over again now.
