Our boat Chelsea

Hurricane Ian did some damage to our boat Chelsea, so we finally decided just to take the roof off. It made our boat look a little bit like the "African Queen" and shaded us from the Florida sun. But, we mostly go out on the river in the late afternoon when sun is lower ... so, we'll try it out & see if we really need to replace the roof! 

Another point for taking it off is, when people who weren't familiar boarding Chelsea would join us, we needed to remind them to watch for the roof as they got on board. When stepping into the boat, it has a tendency to tip towards the dock, along with the roof!  I will add "extra photos" to show you what the roof looked like ... 

It's definitely different to see Chelsea now without it. Chelsea is a big Whitehall hull that looks like an oversized canoe without the roof! There's still a bit more work to be done to fix the damage on the gunnels, but in the meantime, we can still enjoy taking her out again. :O)
