Ossington coffee tavern, Newark
The weather was beautiful this afternoon when we walked from Newark Northgate railway station to Newark Castle to catch our second train and complete our very smooth journey from Edinburgh to Nottingham.
My blip is of the Ossington coffee tavern in Newark. It was originally established in 1882 as a temperance inn. It has had various uses over the years, and currently houses residential and retail units. The history of the tavern is charted on Wikipedia.
We spent this evening with members of Mr hazelh's family at his sister Sam's house. We were nine in total for a pizza feast: myself and Mr hazelh; Sam, Alan, Beth, (the other) Paddy, and Charlotte; Christine (Mr hazelh's step-mother); and Uncle Peter (Mr hazelh's father's brother). We'll all see one another again at Mr hazelh's father's funeral tomorrow.
Exercise today: walking (13,591 steps).
