Looking for shapes

When I set out to walk in Acomb Woods today, I had decided that I would look for shapes in the bare trees. I had the woods almost to myself. One lively cocker spaniel came to suss me out, but I did not see the owner.

The river is in full spate and was very noisy. 

As the sun dropped further in the sky, different leaves and mosses were highlighted. I was very taken with these ferns, although the back lighting disappeared before I had finished making images. I love the bokeh from the sunlight dancing through dead leaves.

Bare trees will have to wait for another day!
