What's Black and White and Red All Over?

It's been a mono sort of day, foggy, dense, and raining off and on. I did get out to do some errands, but mostly stayed in front of the fireplace.

Public Service Announcement: check the area around your toaster oven! I have always kept the top clear, but didn't think about the mixer cord that runs up to the outlet behind the machine. It melted where it touched the hot surface of the oven. We've had this setup for years without any problems, and now I don't know if something's wrong with the toaster oven and it got too hot, or simply that the cord was in the wrong place one time too often. Now I've got to find someone to replace the mixer cord, no easy feat in this disposable world. Luckily there was no other damage, like a fire. So read the first sentence of this paragraph again, and be forewarned.  File this under: Who Knew?
