Native bush

We arrived back in Auckland at lunchtime today after a good flight. Our daughter’s garden includes an area of native bush. This afternoon we saw a pair of kingfishers at least 4 times including seeing one go into its nest in a tree just inside the bush. Apparently some kingfishers eat insects and lizards and not just fish. I also saw and photographed two Tuis so this is going to be good for my bird photography. Unfortunately I just couldn’t carry my 300mm prime lens which would be much better than my zoom lens but never mind.
Amazingly the sun was shining in Auckland which was a lovely surprise!
