Newbattle Woods Circular

January '2nd Saturday Strollers' today, and we were over in Midlothian for a short, circular walk around the Newbattle Abbey College grounds and nearby Woods.

Fortunately, the weather wasn't nearly as poor as forecast and we managed to complete most of the route rain-free! The main picture-collage shows:

- top right; a view from about the halfway point of our route
- bottom left; a bit of sunshine across one of the nearby fields
- bottom right; a culvert flowing into the very full River South Esk

A most enjoyable walk, with an equally enjoyable visit to a nearby hostelry at the end of our physical endeavours!
