Tom Tucker
A very sad day today at the funeral of Tom Tucker our old Coastguard Sector Manager.
Tom was in the Royal Navy from the age of 16 and then served as a Coastguard officer in the Isle of Man, Aberdeen and finally Poole where he looked after four teams of volunteer Coastguards.
He was a great boat handler and I spent manydays with him out in the Coastguard RIBS and larger boats dealing with incidents in and around Poole Harbour and bay.
Tom was an all round good guy and will be sorely missed.
After the funeral the Coastguard helicopter did an unnoficial flypast as a mark of respect.
I only had my iphone and it was pi**ing down so not a great photo but I think it evokes the mood of the day.
RIP Tom
