Turner's Monument
On a whim, I decided to walk up to Turner's Monument above Glenkiln. It can be seen from miles around, on the top of Bennan Hill. The monument (see extra) is above the grave of Johnnie Turner, who died in 1814. His story is an unusual one - Johnnie Turner by Johnnie Crockett. There was a chilly wind on top, and I could see snow on Queensberry and on the Moffat Hills.
I spent the afternoon doing D's tax return, a job I'm always glad to get out of the way for another year.
And D is making the tea tonight :-)
