The real and the "unreal"

I have had yet another debate with some artist friends on AI generated art today. They vehemently oppose it. But I see it as having great potential.
 
The trigger was an article in last Sunday’s Observer when some art experts were asked to judge whether an artist created a work or AI generated. They guessed correctly 7 times and wrong 5 times.
