A Quieter Green Day!

We were focused on work/admin things today (desk work/zoom sessions/discussions with notaries about the need for wills relating to our Brazil property) before another visit to Adega Perola (see yesterday) with lunch, later, at Bar Lagoa in Ipanema with a view encompassing the hill/mountain of Corcovado with Christ the Redeemer statue on top.

Copacabana was built, and continues to be built (now only upwards, which accounts for property prices per square metre being amongst the highest in the world), on a very narrow strip of beach-side land. What, to me, is marvellous is that the Atlantic rain forest which occupied that narrow strip of land was given right of way and its trees have free-growth rights among the building blocks, as illustrated above. Occasionally, the council comes around and trims them back where they touch/intrude on the apartment block facades but they never reduce the height! They are full of birds and, sometimes, monkeys!
