Orchid (Paphiopedilum maudiae )
As I suspected the flower was fully open by last Saturday, which by coincidence was the three year anniversary of the event at which I bought it. Until today I haven't been short of blip subjects but thought it was time I blipped this.
The bud was first spotted on 24/11/22 it can be seen here.
Then I recorded its progress on 22/12/22 it can be seen here.
The last shot is here.
Paphiopedilums are commonly known as Slipper Orchids. There are 165 Slipper Orchids worldwide, as far as I know there is only a single species in the UK this is the Cypripedium calceolus and is said to be the UK's rarest plant. My blip of them is here.
