On the Bridge

Another day, another creek - beavers have been seen on this one recently, quite amazing when you consider how much of it is concreted over for flood control. The beaver were introduced to Los Gatos Creek in the 1980s, and are gradually spreading northwards, using the bay waters to move from creek to creek, apparently. For a long time it was thought there just were no beavers here ever, because they were pretty much gone before the gold rush, but some evidence of their presence has been found. And the introduced ones are happily breeding in San Jose now.
