Life Is Good...

..in front of the fire...

Maggie has had a contented day..her arthritis needle at the vet this week must have helped..she seems much more comfortable. And...  we have an overnight guest too - someone she knows well and likes..my sister! We all spent the evening lounging by the fire...Maggie being the most photogenic of us, so she is today's blip!

My sister is only staying overnight as she is en route to Calgary Alberta to visit her daughter and family. She will fly out of Toronto tomorrow morning. A bit of a round-about route, nest-ce pas? Sudbury to Toronto via Whitby? Check a map...it doesn't make a lot of sense at first glance. But given the cost of domestic airfares in Ontario, the lack of railway passenger service  and express buses to and from northern Ontario, getting to Toronto to fly anywhere is a challenge. Her alternative to flying to Toronto is to drive or if driving doesn't work, take the milk-run bus. 

That bus trip from Sudbury to Whitby via Toronto takes 7 hours! So by the time she got here, she was pooped! Despite that, we had a good visit, and of course, we had an early night as she has to get up early again in the morning; her limo to Pearson airport in Toronto is scheduled to pick her at 6AM for a 4.5 hour flight to Calgary.  I'm tired just thinking of it! Maggie and I will bid her farewell in the morning and resume our sitting in front of the fire..Freezing rain is forecast!
