Tooting Common: Coot Fu?

I swung by Tooting Common en route to Balham, and the lake was mostly frozen over; not sure why, but it seemed to make for even more coot conflict than usual (perhaps because they're more visible to each other on the ice rather than hunkered down submissively in the water). These two were really at it!
I most enjoyed seeing the swans ice-breaking though, and the cracking and creaking sounds of the ice were incredible. I uploaded several swan sequences to Flickr...
