Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, on Hotel Street in Leicester. This sweet shop has been here as long as I can remember. Loads of big tall jars (they used to be glass, I guess they’re plastic now) full of old fashioned sweets. Inside the shop there is the most delightful selection you can think of including all the ones you remember as a child, and it smells lovely. Buy them by 100g now instead of asking for a quarter. They’re weighed out and put into a crisp white paper bag. Today I bought original blackcurrant and liquorice, chocolate covered caramels and 5 sticks of liquorice for Mr I.
Ooh and I’ve just noticed the coconut covered chocolate mushrooms…
