First Crocus

I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed a small flash of yellow in a patch of roadside grass on my walk today. Could it be? it was up a slope and I almost decided I was wrong and should just keep walking. I'm so glad I made the effort and went up to see. 

It was alone but a perfect specimen. There were signs of more bulbs to come too. Spring is galloping along despite the cold spell!
