Empire of Light

This building opened in 1912 as the Headingley Picture House, Leeds.

Now known as the Cottage Road Cinema today showing Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light which we enjoyed from the pullman seats with a cup of tea (free) and a bag of Malteesers (£2.50). The film is set in 1981 when a box of said confectionary cost 20p.
