Culkein Slipway
Another trip to Stoer Lighthouse this morning, slightly more pleasant than yesterday's. The wind is getting less windier and the showers are a bit more spread out, so we actually found a weather window where we could sit out on the point just beyond the lighthouse and enjoy watching the Fulmars and Gannets fly by.
Check out RCB for a Gannet in flight.
Later we planned a walk to the Natural Arch just north of Culkein, that was until Mrs L spied some Black Guillemots in the bay. So much for our walk as we spent the next hour on the slipway watching Black Guillemot, Puffin, Shag, Eider & Gannets. Then the neighbours with the big hairy dogs came out for a walk and chased all the little birds over towards us so we finished off with really close views of all the usual suspects, Turnstone, Dunlin, Sanderling & Ringed Plover. Maybe we'll get to the arch tomorrow.
