The calm before the storm. 
Today I drove part of the same route that I drove about a year ago. Last year I took a photo of these same trees. It looks quite a bit different right now, there is almost no snow on the ground. Last year there was a lot of white in the foreground.
I stopped at a store that has a good selection of jigsaw puzzles and picked up a couple of new ones. I also bought a couple of new house plants at another store. I knew they had just received a new shipment of houseplants so wanted to get there to check them out. There was one that I was admiring, until I looked at the price. Of course it was an unusual one, which always attracts me, but $79.95 for a plant in a 4 inch pot was a bit out of my price range. I stopped at a couple of places to get some of the ready made meals they have. I can keep them in my freezer, then when I get home from work, pop them into the oven for an hour and supper is ready without much effort.
I thought my new roommate was moving in this afternoon, at least that's what she told me yesterday. I cut my trip today short to make sure I was back home by 4 pm, which is when she was supposed to show up. It's now 8:30 and I have heard nothing from her, she is not responding to text messages. I am starting to think that she is not going to be a very reliable tenant. I do have a guy coming over on Saturday afternoon, I am considering him for the upstairs room, but if he decides he wants to move in, I may give him the downstairs room and not bother renting the upstairs room.
