Lightning strike

The tree at the very back of this pic is an old Sequoia, planted in the Blackheath park next to our community hall. On Sunday evening a fiendish stroke of lightning snapped 1/4 (they say) of its top off, split much of the trunk, and shot branches even onto the Highway. Thankfully no one was in the line of fire, and now it'll be a matter of whether the tree itself can survive.
