A Day At A Time.

Eric's

When I was at uni in Liverpool in the 70s, The Cavern Club, famous for hosting the Beatles, no longer existed. It was under a carpark.

On the opposite side of the road was Eric's, a very similar underground den of iniquity and live music.

I remember seeing Wire there and the Boomtown Rats, when they were looking after number one.

The proprietor of said establishment was one Roger Eagle, a memorable character in many ways.

While Jacqui was in the Pool before Christmas, she spotted this painting on a market stall and gave it to me as a present.

That's Roger in the painting. Eric's is still there, but Roger alas has long gone.

The extra is a photo I took in Liverpool last time I was there in November 2019.
