The Big Boys!

Urca, in Rio de Janeiro, is a secluded waterfront community snuggling on the water’s edge below Sugar Loaf Mountain (you can see it on the far shore just in front of the walking man in the top photo).  It provides unusual views of the mountain from below and but even greater ones across the bay to Botafogo with Christ The Redeemer, above.   It’s been a few years since we’ve been but decided on the spur of the moment to take a detour as we were coming back from a hat shop in the centre where we bought a replacement for my foldable Stetson which I managed to leave in a taxi yesterday.

We got dropped off at Bar Urca, and strolled along the walkway above the rocks to the lively beach you see above, before eating in Garota de Urca.

In the evening, we had beer (Original) and snacks with Hugo and Adriana, but somehow missed a blip of them!
