Sad bull
While the wind and the rain were raging last night a calf was born in the trodden mud where the cows had been sheltering. When J found the poor little thing, it was freezing cold so the boys brought it inside and put it under the heat lamp and rubbed it all over. Despite all the things the boys did to warm the little body, it was not meant to be.
Again this afternoon we had another sad calving. This time the calf had been dead inside and it was a backwards stillborn when T pulled it out. Even though difficult calvings with sad endings happen it is quite an emotional time for us all until we pick ourselves up and go forward once again. We have many healthy calves running about this season we must be thankful for and the sun is shining once again.
