I have wanted to go to Whitby for years and have finally managed it. After a cup of coffee and a piece of blueberry cake we took a very short journey on this fine train and an equally short one back on a diesel. On the hill you can see the Abbey which is up 199 steps.
I also bought myself a pair of Whitby jet ear-rings to replace an ear-ring I lost. (Not the £89 pair I saw in the first shop, though!)
