Pollard...

I saw that davidd had been up this way the other day and thought then that if there was a decent day for a walk I'd go out that way...

We're blessed with so many beautiful trees here, some like this one would have been part of a hedgerow or maybe a boundary marker years ago but now it's standing all alone... Really it needs pollarding but I guess if anyone tried to take a chainsaw to it there would be an outcry from all sorts of 'tree lovers'.

Sad because un-managed trees like this will eventually split and rot...
