Wall Screw-moss
Another glorious cold and sunny winter morning - Ferry Meadows was dazzling in shades of gold, copper, warm browns and cool blue, with a myriad of frost crystals to be admired. The walls of Ferry Bridge were bedecked with small patches of Wall Screw-moss, whose golden sporophytes contrast so well with the cool colour of the stone and the river beyond.
It was then off to Waitrose, followed by coffee with Ben, a bit of a catch-up and making final plans for our home-cooked Chinese meal on Sunday night. I'm not quite sure where the rest of the day went, though after dinner I managed to make good progress updating a talk on brownfield land that Pete and will be giving in early February.
