Busy day so it’s a photo of Geriatric Boy… waiting for his biscuit!

I messaged Dale just before lunch to see what she was doing today and she informed me that she and some friends were climbing Ben Lomond today. None of them have experience of hill walking in snow and ice. I am going to ask my ex sister-in-law to speak to Dale about the dangers of hill walking in this weather when you have no experience, don’t have the right equipment and don’t listen to your mother. My ex sister-in-law is an outdoor instructor and she’s good at making people listen… I just want her to be prepared. Everything can change in an instant in our hills! Dale is strong willed and has a can do will do attitude which is great but I know she isn’t listening when I tell her how dangerous hill walking is when you’re not properly prepared. Even the simple things like telling your mother you’re climbing a hill, leaving a note in your car, carry a portable mobile phone charger, checking avalanche warnings…

Thankfully though they had the sense to turn back as the snow was getting deep and it was blowin’ a hoolie, so they didn’t make it to the top!

It’s bad enough hill walking in Scotland in the summer when the weather suddenly changes!
