Owhiro Bay in Wellington

I lie on my floor doing my exercises and look at this painting that I made 15 years ago. I had a photography as example, as we were there in 2008. We stayed in a delightful bed and breakfast , with view over the bay. The owners were a Dutch and Japanese couple. She was a delightful host and he was a skillful boat builder who had turned their balcony into a ‘half-boat’.
They left Owhiro bay long ago now for Japan and for Holland.

It brings good memories both of the trip and the process of painting.
