(022) Ancestor

I've been working on the family tree again and have scanned a few more old photographs. The gentleman in the middle of this picture is Sydney Charles Cotton, who was my great grandfather. I believe he was an engineer and he travelled widely, including to South America, Europe and, evidently, to Japan. The photograph was taken in Kobe and is dated August 1897, at which time Sydney would have been twenty five years old.
