Ithaka revisited

A friend who's a bit down and not going out much asked me to send "one of your ards". I haven't been anywhere lately, apart from Nailsworth and Cheltenham, so I rummaged through a drawer and found one of Ithaka.

This was my first and only visit:

and now I'm sorely tempted to go back. Writing the postcard was easy: I have vivid memories of that day, and I always buy postcards, and often keep them for years afterwards, as souvenirs.

Today was cold cold cold. I worked worked worked. Met a client at a food hub, had wondered if it was the right place. It wasn't. Client burst into tears when seeing it. We got some mince and tatties to go, and went back to client's accommodation. It's difficult sometimes: my diary is so full, I can't see two clients at once, the food hubs/warm spaces aren't open every day, and then I end up with other clients cancelling on me, usually for good reason. Where's my invisible secretary when I need assistance?

The town surgery was cold, but our room was toasty. Staff there bring in miniature hot water bottles on Mondays.

In a surprising twist, King Charles has opened Highgrove House up as a warm space with food! Not every day, of course. Can't see me meeting any clients there, the tickets will have vanished like snowflakes in June. I hope they go to people who really need them.
