Hot water beach

This afternoon we went to Hot water beach. It is a place we’ve never been before and it was amazing! Most beaches in New Zealand are relatively or very quiet but on Hot water beach it’s different. There is a stretch of beach a few hundred yards long where hot springs bubble under the sand and the sand actually becomes too hot to stand on in places. You can only dig at certain times of the tide and it has a real party atmosphere! When we arrived the boys started digging beside the pool that the man in the background is standing in. He was from Alaska and said that their pool was actually too hot so would we like to dig up to his pool and share the water hence it would be a better temperature for everyone! After the boys had had enough we went into the sea which was great surfing but has undercurrent a so we all went in but not deep.Our 8 year old grandson said it was the best day of his life!! It was pretty much the same for us too.
