Popcorn beaches…

not your usual type of beach, as instead of sand, it looks as if it’s covered in puffy popcorn. It’s actually small white algae fossils known as rhodoliths, that cover this part of the coast near Corralejo. To protect this phenomenon, there’s now a warning posted of penalties for removing them and that they will be seized at the airport.
There was me always thinking it was coral.
