After selecting, cropping, mounting and hanging work for the last two weeks this shot was taken about 10 minutes before the official opening of our Annual GCSE and A level Art Exhibition.

Back home four hours later with the adrenaline still pumping, there's a chance to review the event. Thankfully, my speech, The McRoyall Lecture, was well received by the great and the good, many of who were in attendance and the praise heaped on the department did much to dispel the exhaustion that was in danger of enveloping us this afternoon.

The real stars, obviously, are the individuals who produce the work and I hope that they enjoyed seeing exactly what they have achieved and hearing the positive comments from so many guests.
