Ducks and Drakes
Wednesday today so I was up and in to church. Bled the radiators... again! We really do need to get somebody out to take a look at them. Today is the feast of the Conversion of St Paul, it's a wonderful story and appears several times in Acts.
From church I popped over to Tesco and picked up our Burns Supper.
Jon dropped Isobel off with us at lunchtime, she was in good form. The schools were off today in Edinburgh because of the teachers strike.
I popped over to my GP surgery to pick up a prescription and as always when there had a look to see what was going on on the river. I guess an alternative title for this blip could be Tales of the Riverbank!
The Goosanders were looking particularly handsome today. The female obviously thought so as she spent a good five minutes preening and having a jolly good scratch of her head! The male though with his breeding colours was very striking. They seem to live very happily with the colony of mallards in this area.
I took Isobel down to Rainbows and then home again after. She told me she usually played with her friends outside rainbows afterwards. I commented that I thought that was a bit hard on me. I would have to stand outside to wait for her while getting cold, then get even colder waiting for her while she and her friends ran about afterwards. Her response was: You won't be cold you've got tights under your leggings and a tshirt and a vest and a jumper and a scarf and your jacket and a hat..... It was hard to argue really! Sometimes you can't win against a 6 year old logic!
I gave in, Good Night!
