Dinner

Seems I’m focusing close to home right now. Today I hosted my bridge friends. We had a great time with lots of laughter. And a new friend came who I’d met once before. She hadn’t seen my house so we did the grand tour. I made vegetable soup for lunch.

Shelly came over to watch “Who Will Write Our History?” a documentary about the Warsaw Ghetto group known as Oneg Shabbos. They wrote about what was happening in the ghetto and hid their writings in the Ringelblum Archive. It was a very sobering film and I felt sad seeing it. I knew about the ghetto but not about the group. Their story of heroic commitment to telling the true story was very moving.

Shelly went with friend Stu to a lecture at the Synagogue about this story. I stayed home. I made these grilled cheese sandwiches for my dinner and watched TV. When Shelly got home I fed him soup and we spent the rest of the evening together.
