A VERY GOOD FRIEND
I lost a very good friend today
The dreaded cancer took him away
We cycled all over the country in the past
Hebrides, Sutherland, Caithness
We had a blast
Alas, these are only memories now
But what a time we both had
Cycling around
George was a thinker
Considered his words
Some very wise
Others absurd
He gave good advice whenever I was troubled
Often stopped me from becoming befuddled
We travelled thousands of miles out on our bikes
Hail, rain or snow
It didn’t really matter
When we stopped to make camp
We would have a good natter
I’ll remember him fondly
Of that there’s no doubt
Rest in peace my good friend
Over and out
