Friday: Leeks

Damp and drizzly when we got up this morning but the clouds soon cleared and the weather was very nice … for January!
I’d soaked some red lentils to make soup and remembered that there were leeks growing near the greenhouse, one leek was enough to add some flavour added to fresh carrots and garlic, frozen peas and broad beans and some mashed potato, plus lots of flavourings, seasoning and spices - that was my fresh and healthy lunch :-))
I’d taken a chance on doing some washing and put some on the washing line for a couple of hours - didn’t dry well but soon finished on the clothes maid when the heating came on.
Still taking it easy with my knee and relaxed this afternoon watching “Gardeners’ World: Winter Specials” on iPlayer - some very interesting and inspiring gardeners and rewilding.
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
