Lost in translation?

Seeing this really made me chuckle this evening and reminded me of my recent house guest. Rubbish and recycling are both BIG in Japan. As we all do at first, my friend found the system a little unnerving, never really certain of where to put the different types of household rubbish.

After taking the woofer for a walk she couldn't wait to tell me about the pet bin she discovered for disposing of the ubiquitous poo bag. I have to confess that I laughed loud and long before explaining to her that in this case the PET refers to bottles made of Polyethylene Terephthalate and was in fact a plastic bottle recycling bin! Glad I wasn't there when the recycling collection truck arrived! :) Priceless... thank you Janieg!
