Three-soap-squish-dish

How many soap-bars, tired and thin,
should I squish in the dish, like paste?
All in the name of not wishing to want
by, at all costs, avoiding waste?

Comes of being a post-wartime rationing baby boomer! 
"Waste not, want not."
Or am I being silly this Saturday?
